Most entrepreneurs struggle with how to get their business structure right. I was once on that boat until a friend of mine who I met a few years ago gave me a one on one mentorship on how to get it right? Was it for free? Hell no!
I had to invest my time and money to constantly and consciously make deliberate efforts towards getting things right. I asked questions, lost friends, made all the sacrifices I had to make to exceed the expectation of what a small business should be.
My hunger to create an ideal business that goes beyond my imagination was my drive and it took a lot of work at the initial stage. I had to learn and study everything without guidance until I got myself a mentor who was committed to teaching me how to become a better person.
What I did better:
- I worked on my mindset and belief system
- I took several business development courses
- I networked more
- I took several calculated risks
- I got myself a mentor
- I read more books
- I took down my old business structure and implemented all I’ve learned and a lot more.
Oh! you would wonder how I shamelessly and confidently started afresh. The Business Model Canvas was my secret sauce.
However, Note that when things go wrong, be brave to speak about it to someone willing to listen.
Business Model canvas
Business Model Canvas is a strategic management and lean startup template for developing new or documenting existing business models. It is a visual chart with elements describing a firm’s or product’s value proposition, infrastructure, customers, and finances. It assists firms in aligning their activities by illustrating potential trade-offs. -Wikipedia.
